Quality, Environmental and Compliance Team Leader Manchester£35,000 - £40,000 + Benefits
About the RoleOur client, a market-leading manufacturing business, is seeking an experienced Quality, Environmental and Compliance Team Leader to take ownership of their ISO 14001 Environmental Management System and drive compliance, continuous improvement, and sustainability initiatives across the site.
This is a fantastic opportunity for a hands-on QHSE professional with a proven track record in ISO 14001 to join a forward-thinking organisation committed to achieving the highest standards in quality, health & safety, and environmental performance.
You will play a key role in shaping and maintaining QHSE policies, embedding best practices, and ensuring environmental compliance while collaborating closely with cross-functional teams and senior stakeholders.
Key Responsibilities
* Lead the maintenance and continual improvement of the ISO 14001 Environmental Management System, ensuring full compliance and alignment with evolving legislation.
* Plan, schedule, and lead environmental audits, risk assessments, and sustainability initiatives.
* Support the delivery of QHSE projects, policies, and procedures in line with business objectives.
* Ensure ongoing compliance with ISO 9001 and prepare for internal and external audits.
* Investigate customer complaints and non-conformances, applying root cause analysis and corrective actions.
* Deliver QHSE training and promote a safety-first culture across all departments.
* Collaborate with teams to drive continuous improvement and embed best practices into daily operations.
* Provide ad-hoc support to international operations, ensuring QHSE alignment across sites.
Skills & Experience Required
* Minimum 3 years' QHSE experience in a manufacturing or operational environment.
* Proven expertise in leading and maintaining ISO 14001 systems, including audits, documentation, and compliance.
* Strong organisational and time-management skills, with the ability to balance routine duties with project-based work.
* Confident communicator, able to influence and engage colleagues at all levels.
* Proficient in Microsoft Office and experienced in preparing reports and compliance documentation.
* Knowledge of root cause analysis tools and CAPA processes.
Desirable Qualifications
* NEBOSH General Certificate or IOSH Managing Safely.
* IEMA or equivalent environmental/sustainability qualification (highly advantageous).
