SEN Teaching Assistant – Immediate Start | Stockport

We're looking for a dedicated SEN Teaching Assistant to join a thriving specialist secondary school in Stockport on a permanent basis, supporting students with additional learning needs and behavioural challenges.
This is an immediate start opportunity for someone who wants to build a rewarding career in special education or progress in psychology or related fields.
About the Role – SEN Teaching Assistant
* Support students with special educational needs (SEND) across KS3 and KS4
* Provide 1:1, small group, and whole-class support
* Assist with behaviour management and implement de-escalation strategies
* Work closely with experienced teachers, SENCOs, and therapists
* Help students overcome barriers to learning and unlock their full potential
* Flexibility to work across different classes and year groups
What We’re Looking For
* Experience working in education or care settings
* Understanding of SEND, particularly autism (ASC) and challenging behaviour
* Confidence in using de-escalation techniques
* A calm, empathetic, and patient approach
* Ability to work independently and as part of a collaborative team
* Relevant qualifications (e.g. Teaching Assistant qualification, SEND certificate, or a degree in Education, Psychology, or related field)
