About Our Client
Our client is a leading arts organisation located in the historic heart of Bradford city centre. Following a £7.5m redevelopment of its Grade II listed building, the venue will reopen in October 2025 with a significantly expanded footprint, offering new commercial and artistic spaces. The organisation serves as a performance space, meeting place, and creative hub, with a strong commitment to spotlighting Bradford’s diverse culture and communities.
The Role
This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced and commercially focused professional to join the leadership team as Head of Operations. The successful candidate will play a central role in ensuring the long-term success of the redeveloped building, with responsibility for:
* Maximising usage of the new facilities to meet both commercial and community objectives.
* Leading and managing operational staff to deliver high standards of service and achieve ambitious sales targets.
* Developing and implementing management strategies to ensure the building meets the needs of all users.
* Working closely with a wide range of stakeholders including businesses, artists, and community groups.
The role will involve occasional evening and weekend working and may require occasional travel locally, regionally, and nationally.
Candidate Profile
We are seeking a proactive and commercially minded individual who also understands the value and impact of arts and cultural activity. The ideal candidate will bring:
* Proven experience in operations management, ideally in a cultural, hospitality, or commercial setting.
* Strong commercial acumen with the ability to design strategies that deliver against ambitious targets.
* Excellent team leadership and people management skills.
* Strong interpersonal and stakeholder engagement skills, with the ability to work effectively with diverse groups including artists, businesses, and community members.
* A collaborative, adaptable, and solutions-focused approach.
