Assistant SENDCO (Part Time) East Riding of Yorkshire £140 - £190 per day (salary dependent on experience and/or qualifications) Temporary, Part Time Start Date: ASAP The Role Vision for Education are seeking to appoint an experienced and organised Assistant SENDCO to join a successful secondary school in the East Riding of Yorkshire on a flexible, part-time basis to cover a period of staff absence. This temporary role is available for an immediate start and offers flexibility around working days and hours. The successful candidate will work closely with the school's SEND leadership team to support the provision for students with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND), ensuring that students receive the support required to achieve their full potential. Whilst a formal SENDCO qualification is not essential, applicants must have a sound working knowledge of SEND processes and experience of implementing and monitoring Education, Health and Care Plans (EHCPs). Key responsibilities will include: Supporting the coordination and delivery of SEND provision across the school. Monitoring, reviewing and helping to implement EHCPs and other support plans. Working collaboratively with teaching staff, parents/carers and external agencies. Supporting the identification of student needs and recommending appropriate interventions. Maintaining accurate SEND records and documentation. Contributing to annual reviews and SEND-related meetings. Providing day-to-day line management and support for Learning Support Assistants and other support staff. Promoting inclusive practice and supporting staff in meeting the needs of students with SEND. Requirements To be considered for the role of Assistant SENDCO you will: Have previous experience working within a SEND-focused role in a secondary school or similar educational setting. Demonstrate a strong understanding of SEND legislation, processes and best practice. Have experience of supporting the implementation and monitoring of EHCPs. Possess effective communication and organisational skills. Have experience of leading, supervising or line managing support staff. Be able to build positive relationships with students, staff, families and external agencies. Hold, or be willing to obtain, an enhanced DBS check registered on the Update Service.
