My client, a recognised brand in the southeast of England is seeking a highly motivated and experienced Construction lawyer to join an esteemed in-house legal team. You will have the opportunity to join a close knit and collaborative work environment, characterised by a small but supportive team. The successful candidate will be an expert in the drafting and negotiation of various contract types such as NEC and JCT.
Duties include:
* Draft, review, negotiate and provide commercially minded legal advice on NEC, JCT contractual documents.
* Interaction with the engineering, procurement, and project teams from pre-tender stage through to completion
* On adjudication process and be responsible for preparing the claim and liaising with third parties and external lawyers as required.
* Advising the business on applicable law and regulations.
* Supporting the Head of Legal
The successful candidate will have/be:
* Qualified lawyer in England and Wales
* Trained with a well-regarded law firm or in-house preferably with knowledge of the energy or utilities sector
* Experience in drafting and negotiating various construction contracts such as NEC and JCT
* Confident lawyer with practical construction and commercial law experience
* Experience working on complex projects with ability to multi-task, problem solve and balance competing priorities.
* Ability to communicate effectively with a wide range of stakeholders.
Package:
* Up to £85,000
