Overview
Join our engineering team as a Senior Electrical Designer, where you will lead the design, development, and implementation of advanced electrical systems and components that power industry‑leading products. You will collaborate across disciplines, mentor junior engineers, and continuously improve engineering processes and standards.
Key Responsibilities
* Design, develop, and implement electrical systems and components for our products, adhering to EN60204‑33, EN13849, UL, CSA, and CE marking specifications.
* Collaborate with cross‑functional teams to ensure seamless integration of mechanical, software, and firmware components.
* Produce detailed electrical drawings, schematics, and layouts using industry‑standard CAD software.
* Manage the planning of engineering tasks and allocate resources in partnership with management and lead engineers.
* Ensure engineering work is delivered on schedule and meets quality and regulatory standards.
* Provide guidance and mentorship to engineering team members, supporting their professional growth and onboarding newcomers.
* Maintain consistent output in a standard format and ensure compliance with company quality and regulatory requirements.
* Support other departments by answering queries and providing information related to your function.
* Work closely with team members to deliver a consistent engineering service.
* Lead continuous improvement of the engineering function, fostering a “one team” culture and collaborating with other departments.
* Chair meetings related to your engineering function and participate in cross‑functional meetings to communicate progress and set priorities.
Education & Qualifications
* Relevant Engineering Degree.
* Chartered Engineer designation is desired but not essential.
Professional Skills & Abilities
* Design of precision mechanical/electrical systems and mechanisms with a broad knowledge of manufacturing techniques and materials.
* Technical excellence in engineering disciplines (Mechanical, Electrical, Manufacturing, Software) and proficiency with CAD tools (Solid Edge/AutoCAD preferred).
* Strong organisational and communication skills.
* Demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects and tasks simultaneously.
* Strong problem‑solving and decision‑making skills.
* Professional engineering drawing/design best practice.
* Ability to identify opportunities to improve systems and procedures, reducing waste.
* Knowledge of regulatory and standards compliance requirements.
