Yard / Maintenance Technician
Position: Yard / Maintenance Technician (1–2 roles available)
Duration: 2–3 weeks (Initial trial with a view to Temp-to-Perm for the right candidate)
Hours: Monday – Friday, 7:30 am – 5:00 pm
Salary: £15 per hour
Location: Cambridge
The Role
We are looking for a hardworking, hands-on individual to join our yard team. This is a vital role in ensuring our fleet is safe, functional, and presentable for our customers. You will be responsible for the full turnaround of equipment, from the moment it returns from a hire to getting it back out the door.
This is a DIRTY job! You’ll be working outdoors and in workshop environments, dealing with grease, oil, mud, and water. If you aren't afraid to get your hands dirty and take pride in a job well done, we want to hear from you.
Key Responsibilities
o Pre-Hiring Inspections: Checking returned equipment for damage or missing parts.
o Equipment Prep: Deep cleaning machinery using industrial jet washers.
o Basic Servicing: Carrying out routine maintenance including oil changes, filter replacements, and greasing pivot points.
o Refurbishment: Removing old decals and applying new stickers to ensure equipment meets branding standards.
o General Yard Duties: Keeping the workspace tidy and organized.
Requirements
o Tool Savvy: A solid working knowledge of basic hand tools (hammers, screwdrivers, wrenches, etc.) and their safe use.
o Mechanical Aptitude: Experience with basic service maintenance (oil/filters) is highly preferred.
o Physical Fitness: The role is active and requires manual labour throughout the day.
o Attention to Detail: Ensuring machines are not just working but look professional for the next client.
o Reliability: With a 7:30 am start, punctuality is non-negotiable.
