Building Control Plan Checker - Fully Remote Role Overview The organisation is expanding its technical team and is seeking two experienced Building Control Plan Checkers to support projects across London and Kent. These roles are 100% remote, offering the flexibility to work from home while playing a key part in ensuring compliance, safety, and technical accuracy across a diverse portfolio of residential and commercial developments. Key Responsibilities Assess plans, drawings, specifications, and structural details for full compliance with the Building Regulations and associated legislation. Provide clear, accurate, and timely plan check reports, highlighting non‑compliances and recommending practical solutions. Liaise with clients, contractors, architects, and design teams to advise on compliance matters and resolve technical issues. Maintain detailed digital project records and ensure all documentation meets regulatory and internal quality standards. Manage your own caseload efficiently, ensuring deadlines are met and communication remains proactive and professional. Support the organisation's commitment to high‑quality service delivery and continuous improvement. Participate in ongoing training and development through the BSR subscription and in‑house programmes. Required Skills & Experience Registered Building Inspector status (Class 2 or above preferred). Strong working knowledge of current Building Regulations and associated legislation. Proven experience in building control plan checking across a range of project types. Confident communicator with the ability to advise clients and resolve technical issues. Ability to work independently while contributing to a collaborative remote team environment.
