Description:
A leading global technology company is seeking an
Audio Engineer
to join their cutting-edge research lab. You'll play a key role in collecting, processing, and managing high-quality audio and video data to support the development of next-generation AR/VR products. This is a hands-on role based in a world-class acoustic facility, working with advanced recording environments including anechoic chambers and configurable acoustic rooms.
Responsibilities:
* Set up, calibrate, and operate microphones, speakers, DAWs, audio interfaces, and other multimedia equipment.
* Collect and process research-grade audio and video data in bespoke lab environments.
* Ensure accuracy, consistency, and high standards in all data collection.
* Collaborate with internal teams and external volunteers during recording sessions.
* Perform data processing using scripts, multimedia tools, or command line utilities.
Requirements
Essentials:
* 2–4 years' experience in audio engineering, sound engineering, acoustics, or AV technician roles.
* Strong practical knowledge of recording equipment and multimedia setup.
* Excellent attention to detail, organisation, and time management.
* Clear communication skills with the ability to work across teams.
* Passion for audio (e.g., music production, recording, or similar experience).
Desirables:
* Experience with Python scripting, Linux, or command line tools.
* Familiarity with spreadsheets or databases (Excel, MySQL, etc.).
* Exposure to motion capture or visual positioning systems.
