Role: - Medical Diagnostic Field Service Engineer Location: - Covering Southeast England region Salary: - £41,000 per annum plus 10% bonus paid out quarterly & Company Car Set up:- Avg 37.5 hours a week - 5 days a week on the road (one job per day) We are currently recruiting for a Field-based Service Engineer responsible for delivering high-quality technical support, maintenance, installation, and repair services for diagnostic and laboratory instrumentation across customer sites. The role involves managing a designated customer base, resolving technical issues, maintaining strong customer relationships, and supporting the continued growth of the business through excellent service delivery. Key Responsibilities • Carry out installation, servicing, preventative maintenance, repair, and decommissioning of laboratory and diagnostic equipment. • Respond to instrument breakdowns and provide timely on-site and remote technical support. • Manage customer sites, workload, and service schedules effectively to meet customer and business needs. • Maintain accurate stock control and coordinate the return of faulty components. • Produce detailed service reports and maintain service records. • Support colleagues with technical guidance and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives. • Participate in the on-call rota for out-of-hours technical support. • Promote excellent customer relationships and identify potential business opportunities. The Person • Experience servicing, repairing, and supporting medical diagnostic or laboratory equipment. • Strong fault-finding skills across electrical, electronic, mechanical, and fluidics systems. • Good understanding of IT systems, Microsoft Office, Windows environments, and diagnostic software. • Ability to read schematic and circuit diagrams and use electrical test equipment. • Excellent communication, customer service, organisation, and time management skills. • Self-motivated, flexible, and able to work independently in a field-based role. • Electrical/Electronic Engineering qualification (minimum City & Guilds Level 3 or equivalent preferred). • Previous field service engineering experience within medical or scientific instrumentation. • Full UK driving licence and willingness to travel nationwide, including occasional overnight stays. • Comfortable working under pressure while maintaining high service standards and attention to detail.
