Unqualified Learning Support Assistant – Pembroke

Monday – Friday | 8:30am – 3:30pm
Full-Time & Part-Time Positions Available
No Weekends | School Hours | Training Provided

Are you passionate about making a real difference in a young person’s life?

We are proud to be working in partnership with a well-established Special Educational Needs (SEN) school in the Pembroke area, supporting children and young people aged 3–19 years with a range of additional learning needs.

This is a rewarding opportunity for caring, motivated individuals who want to build meaningful relationships and positively impact pupils both academically and personally — no formal qualifications required.

-----------------------------------

About the Role

As a Learning Support Assistant, you will support pupils with their individual development plans, helping them grow in confidence, independence, and educational progress.

Every child is unique, and so is the support you’ll provide. The school uses a combination of classroom-based learning and hands-on sensory and practical activities to help pupils engage and succeed.

Your role will involve:

* Supporting pupils on a 1:1 basis and in small groups

* Assisting with personalised learning plans

* Encouraging independence and self-confidence

* Promoting positive behaviour and emotional wellbeing

* Supporting sensory, practical, and outdoor learning activities

* Helping create a safe, inclusive, and engaging environment

This role is about more than education — it’s about building trust, encouraging resilience, and helping young people believe in themselves.

-----------------------------------

Training & Support

You will receive full training and ongoing support from both Teaching Personnel and the school to ensure you feel confident and prepared in your role.

Whether you are looking to start a career in education, psychology, social care, or simply want to work in a meaningful role — this position offers valuable experience.

-----------------------------------

✅ What We’re Looking For

You will need:

* An Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (we can help you apply)

* Education Workforce Council (EWC) registration (we can help you apply)

* Availability Monday–Friday, 8:30am–3:30pm

* Two professional references

* A positive, patient, and proactive attitude

* A genuine desire to support children in an alternative education setting

Experience is welcomed but not essential. Your attitude, commitment, and willingness to learn are what truly matter.

-----------------------------------

Why Apply?

* Term-time hours – no evenings or weekends

* Opportunity to make a real difference every day

* Supportive and welcoming school environment

* Ongoing professional development

* Ideal experience for careers in education, SEN, psychology, youth work, or social care
