In this role, you'll ensure that LONGi Europe organization operates in accordance with customers’ ESG performance standards and complies with upcoming EU and Member State legislations. Your responsibilities include examining corporate activities, collaborating with headquarters in China to identify improvements, and ensuring compliance with Sustainability/ESG legislations and customer standards.
You will create and implement Sustainability/ESG reports to promote sustainable development within the organization. Additionally, you will engage with customers to support their ESG due diligence, assist in ESG audits and assessments of LONGi’s facilities, and ensure standards are met.
What you will do:
1. Engage with customers to present LONGi’s ESG/Sustainability credentials.
2. Develop and implement ESG strategies and action plans to meet customer and legislative standards.
3. Negotiate ESG/Sustainability agreements in customer contracts in cooperation with Legal, managing associated costs, and ensuring compliance.
4. Work with Sales Directors to ensure contractual ESG commitments are fulfilled.
5. Support the implementation of ESG policies, practices, and reporting to ensure legislative compliance and stay updated on UK, EU, and Member State regulations.
6. Liaise with relevant bodies such as local authorities, NSO, and associations.
7. Propose sustainability targets, develop plans to meet legislative and customer performance targets, and oversee their delivery.
8. Conduct internal ESG impact assessments (e.g., Ecovadis, Archiles) to identify, assess, and reduce ESG risks, and improve LONGi’s environmental impact.
9. Promote awareness of ESG/Sustainability issues within the organization and implement best practices related to corporate, ethical, and social responsibility.
10. Manage relations with directors, senior management, and stakeholders on ESG/environmental issues.
11. Hold a relevant degree or postgraduate qualification in bioscience, earth sciences, ecology, energy, environmental engineering, health, sciences, or management engineering with a focus on sustainability.
12. Business experience or qualification, especially in customer engagement and environmental aspects, is valuable.
13. Show initiative, recognize emerging problems, and develop proactive solutions.
14. Manage projects and deliver presentations effectively.
15. Possess negotiation and project management skills.
16. Be organized and able to communicate effectively.
17. Be fluent in English, Chinese, and German, both written and spoken.
18. Have commercial awareness and understanding of business operations.
