About the Role
We are looking for a dedicated and compassionate Practice Nurse to join our supportive and forward-thinking team. This is an excellent opportunity to work closely with a multidisciplinary group of healthcare professionals, delivering exceptional care across treatment, prevention, and health promotion services.
This role involves a wide variety of responsibilities, including direct patient care, health screenings, immunisations, chronic disease support, and contributing to the ongoing development of services.

Key Responsibilities
Treatment Room Duties
* Perform dressings, compression bandaging, removal of clips/sutures.
* Administer routine injections, adult and child immunisations (in line with PGDs).
* Ear irrigation, travel health consultations, and flu vaccinations.
* Collect, label, store and dispatch pathological specimens.
* Maintain treatment rooms and equipment to clinical standards.
Health Promotion & Screening
* Provide targeted health education for heart disease, cancer risk, and chronic illness prevention.
* Participate in screening programmes and campaigns aligned with national and local health priorities.
Chronic Disease & Family Planning Support
* Assist in managing long-term conditions in collaboration with GPs.
* Support patients with family planning and sexual health services.
Safeguarding & Risk Assessment
* Identify and escalate concerns related to vulnerable adults, child protection, domestic violence, and other safeguarding issues.
Administrative & Professional Duties
* Maintain accurate and timely clinical records (Systmone).
* Support data collection for QOF and enhanced services.
* Participate in audits, research, and quality improvement projects.
* Engage in team meetings, continuing professional development (CPD), and clinical supervision.
Requirements
* Qualified Registered Nurse with NMC registration.
* Experience in a Primary Care or General Practice setting is preferred (but not essential).
* Knowledge of immunisation schedules, chronic disease management, and treatment room protocols.
* Strong communication, clinical judgement, and documentation skills.
* Ability to self-motivate, work independently, and prioritise workload.
* Commitment to working within the NMC Code of Conduct and evidence-based practice.
Desirable Skills (Training Can Be Provided)
* Cytology (smear testing)
* Childhood immunisations
* Travel health consultations and vaccinations
* Chronic disease management (e.g., asthma, diabetes, COPD)
* Experience using Systmone
