As a Health Care Assistant, you will play a vital role in supporting clinical staff, assisting with patient care tasks, and ensuring smooth communication within the healthcare team. The position offers flexibility across day and night shifts, making it suitable for candidates seeking varied working patterns, including full-time, part-time, or apprenticeship opportunities.
As a Health Care Assistant, your duties will include:
* Take and record vital signs such as temperature, pulse, respiration rate, and blood pressure.
* Support patients in preparing for examinations and routine medical procedures.
* Follow instructions provided by doctors, nurses, and senior healthcare professionals.
* Monitor IV drips and assist with medication-related tasks under supervision.
* Communicate urgent or emergency health information to appropriate medical staff.
* Deliver messages, documentation, and updates between healthcare team members.
* Organise, update, and maintain patient medical records and files.
* Assist in verifying patient information and administrative healthcare tasks.
* Support daily patient care activities to ensure comfort and wellbeing.
* Maintain a clean, safe, and professional care environment.
* Work collaboratively with healthcare professionals to ensure high-quality care delivery.
* Adhere to CQC standards, safeguarding policies, and clinical guidelines.
Candidate Requirements
Required
* Compassionate and patient-focused attitude.
* Ability to work effectively in a healthcare or care home environment.
* Good communication skills for interacting with patients and healthcare professionals.
* Strong attention to detail and ability to follow clinical instructions.
* Valid UK Driving Licence and access to a personal vehicle.
* Eligibility to work in the United Kingdom.
* Willingness to work flexible shifts, including nights and weekends.
* Ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
Preferred
* Previous experience in healthcare assistance, domiciliary care, or care home settings.
* Basic understanding of vital signs and patient monitoring.
* Familiarity with healthcare documentation and record-keeping systems.
* Experience working under CQC-regulated care environments.
* Interest in pursuing further healthcare training or apprenticeship development.
