This is an exciting opportunity to join an established team at Oxford & Abingdon branch as a Corporate Banking Manager. The successful candidate will have responsibility for managing a portfolio of business customers across the full suite of corporate products and services. The portfolio is predominantly made up of property lending customers, in addition to a mix of local trading businesses and non-borrowing customers. You will have full responsibility for all aspects of client relationships including preparation of credit applications, customer financial and risk analysis, balance sheet analysis, annual reviews, monitoring of management accounts, covenant compliance and profitability.
You will be required to develop the portfolio further to grow the business, through interaction with existing customers, as well as winning and onboarding new customers, with a passion for customer service and a strong focus on profitability and business development.
Responsibilities
* Responsible for the maintenance and development of a portfolio of corporate customers. Build relationships with customers and ensure customer satisfaction through excellent customer service.
* Identify, meet and win prospective new customers/introducers by outlining how we work and what we can offer in terms of service and facilities.
* Complete credit applications and credit annual reviews in line with the Bank’s Credit Policy.
* Interpret financial information provided by customers, evaluate lending propositions, assess and formulate risk ratings, and structure transactions to ensure the right customer selection.
* Develop and maintain a sound understanding of the local market, and maintain relationships with professional firms and introducers.
* Attend networking events and undertake focused business development activities.
* Identify and offer customers, on a needs basis, the appropriate Handelsbanken products and services, communicating relevant features, benefits and risks.
* General administration, preparation and reviewing of legal documentation for accounts (including KYC/AML reviews), lending facilities and securities.
Ideal Candidate
* Applicants with a proven track-record in corporate relationship and portfolio management are welcomed. Demonstrable knowledge of the Bank’s Credit Policy and processes, and strong business development capabilities are required.
* Ability to build strong professional relationships at all levels and represent Handelsbanken effectively. Significant contact with customers and external professionals requires effective interpersonal and communication skills.
* Strong team player, flexible, proactive and conscientious with a positive attitude. Able to work with integrity and discretion under pressure.
* Committed to delivering an exceptional level of service to existing and potential customers with strong attention to detail and an organised approach.
* Experience dealing with lending documentation/security and AML/KYC procedures for business customers/transactions is advantageous.
* High level of computer literacy (Microsoft Word and Excel); training will be provided on additional internal IT systems.
