NRL is currently recruiting for Material Handling Operators to join a world-leading, global Battery Manufacturing organisation based in the North East of England. This role supports the development and operation of a large-scale, innovative manufacturing plant focused on the electric vehicle marketplace.

Job Purpose
You will play a crucial role in the receipt, storage, and movement of materials within our manufacturing facility. Your responsibilities include handling and transporting materials to support production, ensuring timely and accurate material flow to meet targets.
Responsibilities
1. Operate material handling equipment such as forklifts, Reach trucks, Tow Tractors, and Pallet Trucks within warehouse and production areas.
2. Receive, inspect, and verify incoming materials for accuracy and quality.
3. Load and unload materials from trucks, ensuring proper handling and placement.
4. Transport materials to designated areas, maintaining inventory control and stock rotation.
5. Assist with inventory management, stocktaking, and cycle counts.
6. Support production teams by delivering materials to production lines promptly.
7. Maintain a clean and safe work environment, adhering to safety standards and company policies.
8. Assist with packaging, labeling, and preparing materials for shipping.
9. Collaborate with the warehouse team to optimize space and efficiency.
Experience and Qualifications
* Proven experience as a Material Handling Operator or similar role; experience in the automotive industry is advantageous.
* Valid forklift certification preferred or ability to obtain it.
* Understanding of material handling and safety procedures.
* Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment with good time management.
* Basic computer skills; knowledge of inventory systems or SAP is a plus.
Preferred Skills
* Forklift and VNA licenses
* Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing or 5S principles
* Ability to work independently and as part of a team
