We are pleased to welcome an opportunity within our Emergency Department for a Band 6 Department Sister/ Charge Nurse to join our team. We are looking for an enthusiastic self-motivated individual who is passionate about delivering high quality emergency care in a fast paced environment.
Role
As a band 6 Department Sister/Deputy Charge Nurse in the Emergency Department your role is pivotal as a proficient role model and clinical expert working alongside the senior nursing team. You will also be expected to take charge of an area of the department and develop shift leader competencies under supervision.You will need:
* emergency or acute nursing experience at AFC Bands 5 or 6 with proficiency in the relevant skills appropriate to emergency care
* evidence of continuing professional development
* to be a good communicator
* be willing to drive innovative practice within an emergency care setting
To do this role effectively the successful candidate will be a forward thinking creative nurse. They will be someone who believes strong communication is essential and who strives to ensure quality patient care is present at all times. The role requires the post holder to be able to cope in a changing environment, and to have good attention to detail and problem solving skills. There will also be the opportunity to develop management and leadership skills under the supervision of a band 7.
Applicants will demonstrate experience of working in all areas of ED. All records of courses attended or competencies achieved must be brought to interview.
