Role Overview

The Electro-Mechanical Technician plays a key role in the assembly and integration of complex x-ray machines –e.g. mechanical fitting, cabling and integration of PCBs, servers, cooling systems, HV power supplies, etc.


Responsibilities

1. Building of x-ray scanner machines from engineering drawings, diagrams and std work instructions
2. Undertake repair and rework of mechanical assemblies
3. Be able to interpret Electrical Wire schematics and undertake fault finding and rectification
4. Responsible for quality of build in all areas including documentation, including self-checking and buddy checks
5. Maintain throughput targets
6. Assist in other areas of manufacturing as required
7. Ensure familiarity with stores and stock control and assist when directed
8. Support the development of Lean principles within the work area, suggest improvements.
9. Undertake prototype assembly and assist with Manufacturing Engineering on Project work.
10. Strict adherence to Safe work practices
11. Support the improvement of the facility, including implementation of Lean Manufacturing, 5S, BPD and Continuous Improvements.
12. Uphold the company’s core values of Integrity, Innovation, Accountability, and Teamwork.
13. Demonstrate behavior consistent with the company’s Code of Ethics and Conduct.
14. It is the responsibility of every employee to report to their manager or a member of senior management any quality problems or defects in order for corrective action to be implemented and to avoid recurrence of the problem.
15. Duties may be modified or assigned at any time to meet the needs of the business.

Qualifications

16. Experience of assembling complex electro-mechanical products
17. Ability to work quickly and accurately with minimal supervision.
18. Adaptability combined with good communication skills
19. Ability to work on own initiative following company procedures
20. Ability to perform basic testing and problem solving
21. Ability to work accurately to procedures to produce work of consistent high quality
22. Able to integrate well into an established team supporting and assisting colleagues when required
23. GCSE level maths and English
24. Good mechanical and workshop skills
25. A good general technical and electro-mechanical mind-set –e.g. understanding of electrical and mechanical documentation, drawings and specifications
26. Understanding of electrical and mechanical safety standards.
27. Experience of Lean Manufacturing, 5S, BPD and Continuous Improvement.
28. Initially Monday to Thursday 08:00-16:00 Friday 08:00-15:30 but may develop into a shift role in the future should the business require it. This would attract a shift premium.
