Role Purpose
Working within the Road division of the organisation, the Operations manager holds responsibility to ensure a smooth and profitable operation in respect of European imports and exports.
Working as a key part of the senior management team within our Cannock location, the role will be focus on the operational management of all of the branches European road freight services and general operational activities. The Operations Manager will lead and develop the teams to allow for continued growth and development, alongside reviewing and evolving operational processes and systems to make positive impacts to the overall branch performance.
Main Duties
* Lead and develop the operations team ensuring exceptional service is delivered consistently
* To develop the capability of the branch through its people through training, coaching and development
* To support in the development and implementation of the Branches strategic plans, ensuring the operational team is aligned with these goals and focus areas
* To build and grow strong relationships with all internal stakeholders
* To build and foster strong relationships with all external partners
* Take responsibility for operational delivery, ensuring that cost, service and accuracy are consistently considered.
* To continually assess and appraise branch performance and quality, ensuring appropriate KPI's measures are in place.
* Analysing data to identify trends and opportunities, conducting route cause analysis as appropriate
* To be proactive in seeking and realising continuous operational improvements
* Maximizing the use of all systems to improve internal processes and reporting

* Has proven leadership skills
* Holds sound knowledge in the European road freight industry

Skills and Experience
* Minimum of 3 years' experience in a European Freight Forwarding (Road) environment
* Minimum of 2 years' experience in a Management or Leadership role
* Degree educated (or equivalent)is desirable
