Scottish Agritourism Background:
Scottish Agritourism is the sector body responsible for growing, developing and promoting agritourism in Scotland. We are a membership organisation, with a tight knit network of entrepreneurial farmers, crofters and estate owners throughout all parts of the Scottish countryside who offer locals and visitors alike high quality and memorable experiences. Our membership provides business support, lobbying and representation and promotion for the sector.
Purpose of Role:
This operational role will provide support to the Scottish Agritourism Manager and Board, and contribute to the sustainable growth of the organisation by attracting new members and commercial opportunities, and supporting member retention.
The role will report to Laura Paterson, Scottish Agritourism Manager, and work as part of a wider team with Caroline Millar, Sector Lead; the Finance Administrator and Membership Services Administrator. The post holder will work closely with the Scottish Agritourism membership, Board of Directors and Destination Leaders.
Responsibilities of the Role:
The core responsibilities of the role will be:
· Identify potential Scottish Agritourism members and sponsors.
· Manage a rolling list of target members and sponsors to engage and recruit each month.
· Focus and deliver on monthly and annual sales target.
· Telephone/meet online/meet in person with potential members and sponsors to explain the benefits of membership or commercial opportunities.
· Keep detailed notes of meetings and log key information on Sheep CRM.
· Prepare regular reports and updates for Scottish Agritourism team and Board of Directors.
· Meet with Destination Leaders to discuss regional activity, share and capture warm leads.
· Process memberships and support onboarding of new members with Membership Services Administrator.
· Engage with current Scottish Agritourism members to develop relationships with the organisation and wider agritourism network.
· Be an excellent communicator and representative of the Scottish Agritourism brand.
Person Specification:
The successful candidate must have a proven track record in sales and be capable of representing the organisation and nurturing new relationships with people and organisations not currently connected to Scottish Agritourism.
The successful candidate will have a proven track record of working to and delivering on targets and deadlines. It would also be beneficial for candidates to have an established network and contracts within the agricultural, tourism and rural economy across Scotland and the wider UK industries.
Remuneration is £35,000 per annum pro rata, plus commission and target-based bonus.
