Overview
Position Start Date: Immediate. Contract Type: Part-time. Contract Term: Permanent. Application Close: 22/09/2025 Midnight. Date of Interviews: To be confirmed. The thriving team of Science, part of a busy department offering health, care, science and sport, are seeking to appoint an enthusiastic and dynamic part time Science lecturer to teach primarily on our Level 3 Forensic and Biomedical programmes, with the opportunity to teach related subjects throughout the department. The successful candidate will be joining the team at a time when involvement in the support and design of the new curricula for 16-18 and adult learning programmes will play a part in the role. The working week for this role is 18.5 hours.
Responsibilities
* Teach primarily on Level 3 BTEC Science with specific experience in teaching and assessing forensic and/or biomedical science related modules.
* Contribute to the support and design of the new curricula for 16-18 and adult learning programmes.
* Prepare, plan and deliver high quality lessons in an engaging and effective way to support learners.
Qualifications
* Experience in teaching and assessing Level 3 BTEC Science, with specific experience in forensic and/or biomedical science modules.
* Experience of working in a relevant industry, teaching A level or T level, and curriculum design and delivery would be advantageous.
* Science degree.
* Level 5 teaching qualification.
* Excellent record of teaching and learning practice.
