Overview
Digital and Technology Solutions Degree Apprenticeship at Airbus. Start date: September 2026. Location: Filton, Bristol. Duration: 4 years and 3 months. University: Weston College (UCW), degree accredited by the University of the West of England. Degree: BSc (Hons) Digital and Technology Solutions. Apprenticeship standard: ST0119 Digital and Technology Solutions Professional Level 6.
What you will be doing
This apprenticeship is delivered through a combination of on-the-job training at Airbus, and university-based learning on day release over the 4-year programme. You will learn key skills in digital and technology and have the opportunity to apply real-world analytical practices, which will contribute directly to your degree whilst adding value to our business. Key activities may include:
* Proactively assist in defining the direction for future IT products, services and validate product designs
* Participate in all phases of the application development life cycle, including integration, validation and production
* Align architecture strategy with the organisation's business goals
* Define policies, standards and guidelines for IT within the organisation
* Project management, including gathering requirements, creating technical specifications and architecture documents, and managing a project timeline
During this time, you will also work with various teams across engineering, design, quality, operations support, cyber security, IT solutions and helpdesk, as well as supply chain and logistics. You may also have placements outside your area of study, including HR, facilities management, recruitment, finance and more.
What you will study and achieve
You will study via Weston College (UCW) with a degree accredited by the University of the West of England. Your industry-based work will take place at Airbus in Filton, Bristol. Over the 4 years, you will achieve a fully funded BSc (Hons) in Digital and Technology Solutions, with work-based experiences contributing to your degree.
Requirements
This is an ideal role for someone with a keen interest in ICT, digital technology, Internet of Things, mobile apps, data analytics and future tech. To be eligible, you must meet one of the following:
* 3 A-Levels at grade C or above, preferably in Maths, Sciences and IT
* T Level in an IT/Digital subject at Merit or above
* BTEC Level 3 Extended Diploma in an IT/Digital subject, at minimum MMM grade
* Equivalent qualifications/experience (subject to validation)
And you must have a minimum of 4 GCSEs including English Language and Maths (Grade 4/C or above).
Successful candidates should demonstrate:
* Ability to work well in a team and focus on self-development
* Experience or knowledge of IT product design and development
* Ability to manage problems, produce documentation, and complete testing
* Knowledge of information and knowledge management and component integration
* Experience with programming languages such as C++, JavaScript, Python (beneficial)

Important information
GRADES: If you are on predicted grades, your offer will be conditional on achieving the requirements before the start date.
SECURITY CLEARANCE: Eligibility to gain UK SC Security Clearance OR you will be subject to a BPSS check (including a criminal record check).
RIGHT TO WORK IN THE UK: You must have current legal authorisation to work in the UK.
LEVY FUNDING: Successful candidates must be eligible for levy funding. Our apprenticeship roles do not meet UK Visas & Immigration sponsorship requirements for migrant workers.
