The Role
Reporting directly to the Partner and Head of Team, you will manage a complex caseload of privately fee‑paying matters and play a key role in the supervision and development of junior fee earners.
The team is ranked in Chambers and Legal 500 and is a founding member of the Professional Deputies Forum, with a national reputation for delivering bespoke legal solutions for vulnerable children and adults.
Key Responsibilities
* Managing a diverse caseload of Community Care and Court of Protection (Health & Welfare) matters
* Advising Court of Protection Deputies, clients and professionals including case managers
* Drafting and reviewing complex legal documentation and correspondence
* Providing advocacy at assessments, appeals, court and tribunal hearings
* Supervising and mentoring junior fee earners and support staff
* Supporting business development, marketing initiatives and team growth
* Maintaining the highest standards of quality, compliance and client care
Depending on experience, there is also scope to undertake Special Educational Needs (SEN) work.
Experience
Essential
* Strong experience in Community Care / Public Law and / or Court of Protection matters
* Exposure to Property & Affairs and Health & Welfare issues
* Ability to independently manage a complex, privately funded caseload
* Excellent advocacy, negotiation and communication skills
* Experience supervising or mentoring junior colleagues
* High level of organisation and client care
Desirable
* Wider experience in Court of Protection Property & Affairs and / or SEN law
* Involvement in business development, training or marketing activities
