Responsibilities
* Provide IT support to primary schools within the borough, working as part of the Primary Schools Team and supported by the Primary Schools Team Manager and senior IT engineers.
* Act as the primary IT engineer for allocated schools, visiting them weekly and providing reactive support as required, with project work during school holidays.
* Deliver both first- and second-line support to staff and students.
* Support end-user devices including Windows PCs, printers, iPads and audio/visual equipment; basic networking tasks (cable patching, wireless connectivity, IP configuration and troubleshooting).
* Administer users and computers using Microsoft Server 2016-2022, Microsoft 365, Microsoft Intune and Microsoft Configuration Manager (experience would be an advantage).
* Maintain good customer service and liaise with school staff and children; participate in a service desk; a DBS check will be carried out for successful applicants; ITIL qualification is advantageous but not required.
* Be organised, take ownership of service desk calls and prioritise them based on impact.
* Minimum of one year's experience in an IT support environment.
* Service coverage hours are Monday–Friday, 8:30am–4:30pm, with flexibility to cover between 8:00am and 5:00pm as required.
Qualifications
* At least one year of IT support experience.
* Experience supporting end-user devices (Windows PCs, printers, iPads) and AV equipment; basic networking.
* Experience administering users/computers using Microsoft Server 2016-2022, Microsoft 365, Microsoft Intune and Microsoft Configuration Manager; this would be advantageous.
* Good customer service skills; ability to liaise with school staff and children.
* Full DBS check required for successful applicant.
* Service desk experience; ITIL qualification advantageous but not required.
* Organised and able to take ownership of service desk calls and prioritise by impact.
Salary and Hours
Salary: £28,598 - £31,022 per annum
Hours: 37 hours per week
Service delivery hours are Monday – Friday, 8:30am – 4:30pm; however, flexibility to cover between 8:00am and 5:00pm may be required.
