We have a fantastic opportunity for an experienced Risk Consultant to join Thames Water.
To be considered for this role, you will require a good level of risk management understanding and the ability to build business cases for investment needs.
As the successful candidate, you will work collaboratively to build and maintain effective partnerships with key cross-functional leaders, facilitate improvement activities across the water supply system by providing analysis and developing insightful tools to enable visualization of risk across Water in London.
You’ll also be involved in month-end financial reporting, providing analysis and insights into current spending and future funding, as well as developing new reports to articulate risk and funding to senior stakeholders.
This is a vital role in the successful identification, management, and delivery of risk mitigation and investment. Your ability to work closely with site managers, asset and engineering teams, and senior operational managers will be key. Your input will help management and local teams set investment priorities, navigate the investment process, and ultimately improve operational performance, H&S, and customer satisfaction.
What you will be doing as the Risk Consultant
1. Perform month-end and annual reporting for the portfolio against budget, costs, forecasts, and scope, contributing to quarterly budget forecasts.
2. Develop new reporting methods for the PMO and Risk teams.
3. Visit all Area Operations Managers monthly to understand local risks and develop strong relationships.
4. Prepare presentations and reports for risk review meetings with internal stakeholders.
5. Collaborate with asset management, enterprise risk, and operational teams to develop a long-term understanding of risk and plans for the AMP planning process.
We are looking for you to have
* Extensive risk management experience, preferably within the water utilities industry, with the ability to effectively manage and escalate risks and issues.
* Strong communication skills, adaptable to delivery teams and senior stakeholders, with demonstrable experience in this area.
* Excellent analytical and presentation skills, with proficiency in Excel and Power BI.
* Ability to articulate business cases linked to benefits and risks.
* Experience with month-end processes, forecasting, budgets, and accrual calculations.
* Excellent interpersonal and stakeholder management skills.
