Job Title: MS Specialist Nurse Lead
To lead and manage a specialist service for people with Multiple Sclerosis (MS) across South Buckinghamshire, working autonomously within professional guidelines.
1. Manage a clinical caseload.
2. Act as a catalyst for shaping and expanding future services.
3. Collaborate with consultant neurologists, physicians, neuro-rehab specialists, associate specialists, MS nursing team members, therapists, GPs, community services, and Social Services to promote best practices and high standards of care for people with MS (pwMS).
4. Actively participate in improving care quality at local, regional, and national levels.
5. Provide specialist education and training in MS to healthcare professionals in diverse settings.
6. Deliver high-standard patient care using advanced clinical skills and comprehensive evidence-based knowledge.
7. Manage and deliver inpatient, outpatient, and domiciliary services, offering expert clinical care and advice, promoting adherence to long-term therapies to maximize cost-effectiveness and quality.
8. Responsibilities include managing patient caseloads, ordering diagnostic tests, handling referrals, running clinics independently, reviewing newly diagnosed patients, managing relapses and symptoms, and monitoring disease-modifying treatments.
