What You Will Do
* Manage an allocated caseload, ensuring careful decision-making even with high complexity or high-risk cases related to Child Protection or Court action.
* Conduct assessments and create plans for care and education, determining the appropriate support within budget limits.
* Collaborate closely with various services to utilise resources efficiently and effectively.
* Employ dynamic social worker techniques tailored to the unique needs of individuals, families, and carers, working both independently and collaboratively.
* Ensure the welfare and protection of children and adults at risk, taking decisive action in urgent situations.
* Engage in a duty rota system, providing immediate crisis response and assessments where necessary.
* Mentor and supervise team colleagues, social work students, and newly-qualified social workers, sharing best practices and supporting career development.
* Prepare court reports, carry out best interest assessments, and manage care and safeguarding meetings alongside management.
Requirements
* Degree or equivalent in Social Work.
* Current registration with Social Care Wales.
* Significant frontline experience in UK social services as a qualified Social Worker, adept at handling complex cases.
