Role Information
The school is looking for a compassionate, dedicated Welfare Officer to support student wellbeing, attendance, engagement, and pastoral provision.
Your responsibilities will include:
* Providing daily welfare support for students experiencing emotional, social, medical, or behavioural difficulties
* Offering one-to-one check-ins, listening support, and early intervention guidance
* Monitoring safeguarding concerns and reporting to the Safeguarding Lead
* Coordinating external referrals and liaising with CAMHS, Early Help, social care, and health services
* Supporting attendance monitoring and targeted intervention plans
* Working closely with the pastoral team, SEN department, and form tutors
* Helping to run wellbeing programmes, anti-bullying initiatives, and resilience workshops
* Maintaining accurate electronic records, safeguarding logs, and follow-up documentation
* Communicating effectively with parents, carers, and staff regarding student needs
* Ensuring compliance with safeguarding legislation and confidentiality protocols

Requirements
* Experience in a welfare, pastoral, safeguarding, or youth support role
* Strong understanding of safeguarding procedures (DSL training desirable)
* Ability to build trust with young people and families

* Experience working with external support agencies
* Strong administrative and record-keeping skills
