What's involved with this role: Interim Senior Conservation Officer – Housing Job Ref: NW Leicestershire TCL 5247300 Pay Rate: Up £20.22 per hour PAYE depending on experience Hours per week: 15 Wednesday and Thursday 9am to 4.45pm Role Length: This opening assignment is for 6 months City: Coalville, Leicestershire The purpose of the role is to carry out duties resulting from the application of relevant planning and other legislation in relation to conservation and historic building matters and to provide advice and guidance on conservation and historic building matters to the Planning and Development Team. Key Receptibilities: Assess and make recommendations on listed building consent applications. Prepare appeal statements and give evidence at Hearings, Public Inquiries and in the Magistrates’ Court in relation to matters of conservation and/or historic interest. Prepare and review Conservation Area Appraisals and Management Plans, to provide advice on the preparation of planning policies relating to heritage issues, and to facilitate the promotion of economic growth by regeneration and management of the historic environment. Support and positively contribute to projects to deliver economic regeneration and growth involving the management of the historic environment including preparing Article 4 Directions and similar. Advise customers on planning and heritage asset matters and to provide pre-application advice on matters relating to planning, conservation, and historic buildings. Dealing with all consultation requests from the planning team which involve conservation matters. Being the case officer for LBC applications where there isn't a parallel Planning application. Provide training to the planning team on relevant conservation matters to meet the terms of the skills bid. Demonstrable experience in dealing with listed building applications, providing specialist advice on conservation and historic building matters and of dealing with economic regeneration and growth projects in relation to the historic environment.
