About the Role: As an SEN Teaching Assistant, you will work alongside teachers, SENCOs and other professionals to support students with a variety of needs, including autism, ADHD, communication difficulties, and social, emotional and mental health (SEMH) challenges. Your role will involve providing tailored interventions, supporting learning and development, and fostering a nurturing environment for pupils to thrive. Key Responsibilities: Deliver one-to-one and small group support, both in and out of the classroom. Assist with adapting learning materials to meet individual needs. Encourage and support the social and emotional development of pupils. Implement behaviour management strategies in line with school policy. Provide personal care and mobility support if required. Collaborate with teachers, parents and other staff to ensure consistent pupil progress. Job Requirements: Experience working with children or young people with SEN in an educational setting is highly desirable. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. An understanding of a range of additional needs, including ASD and SEMH. A patient, empathetic, and flexible approach to support. Relevant education or SEN-related qualifications are advantageous. Understanding of safeguarding procedures and a proactive approach to student welfare.
