An exciting vacancy is available as a Maths Lecturer in the Health & Care department at Cardiff and the Vale College. This post will be based at the City Centre Campus, Dumballs Road.
Responsibilities include:
1. Undertaking all pedagogic work such as lesson preparation, classroom teaching, tutorial work, and marking.
2. Teaching GCSE Maths across campuses as part of our cross-college resit programme; as part of our Access to Further Study adult provision and potentially within our Adult Evening provision. Teaching opportunities will also include our Level 3 provision in Access to HE Diplomas.
3. Conducting student assessments to place students, monitor progress, and identify learning support needs.
4. Providing appropriate student support to meet both the academic and welfare needs of learners and ensuring that all relevant information is recorded on the appropriate College systems.
5. Undertaking all organisational and administrative work associated with the above. This includes attending team meetings, participating in professional development activities, and maintaining accurate teaching-related records including details of assessment and attendance.
6. Taking part in course evaluation activities and contributing to the development of the curriculum.
7. An involvement in marketing, i.e., identification of consumer requirements, creating appropriate publicity materials, and working with external agencies where appropriate.
8. Welsh language skills are not essential but would be desirable for this role.
