As an Electrician, you will carry out installations, testing andmissioning of electrical systems in line with statutory regulations and industry best practice. You willplete planned maintenance, respond to CAFM‑generated service requests, and ensure tasks are prioritised effectively. Key responsibilities include:
1. Supervising prisoners during work and training activities.
2. Managing stock levels and requesting materials as required.
3. Escorting and supervising contractors under the Local Security Strategy (LSS).
4. Maintaining regular radiomunication in line with LSS.
5. Accepting appointments as apetent/authorised person under GFSL safe systems of work.
6. Driving estates vehicles and operating plant equipment (where qualified).
7. Undertaking urgent/emergency tasks within agreed timescales.
8. Supporting tool inventory control and maintaining security standards.
9. Promoting excellent customer service and maintaining strong client relationships.
10. Ensuringpliance with all Health & Safety legislation, including acting as Fire Warden or First Aider if required.
Hours: Monday to Friday full-time
PAYE: £ p/h inclusive of holidayUMB: £ P/h6 months temporary, with the opportunity to go permanent
What you'll need to succeed
The ideal candidate will have the below:Essential:
11. Minimum of two years’ experience working as an electrician.
12. NVQ Level 3 in Electrotechnical Services or equivalent.
13. BS7671 IET Wiring Regulations (18th Edition).
Desirable:
14. Experience with electrical installations aligned to wiring regulations and industry best practice.
15. Experience inmercial or industrial electrical systems.
16. Understanding of planned preventive maintenance (PPM).
17. L8 Legionella awareness (training can be provided).
