As a Technical Support Engineer, youll play an integral role within the Customer Service team, utilising your solid engineering and mechanical knowledge to provide outstanding technical assistance and occasional site support to the customer service department and external customers.
Key Tasks and Activities
1. Provide technical telephone support to Distributors, End Users and internal staff
2. Getting hands on as required, going out to fix faults and service machines
3. Diagnose and resolve technical/mechanical faults
4. Process warranty returns to agreed procedures
5. Investigate and respond to Distributor and End User queries
6. Take ownership of customer complaints and bring to satisfactory resolution
7. Ad hoc projects and other reasonable tasks as assigned by Customer Service Manager
Essential Requirements
8. Able to carry out external repairs and servicing
9. Hands on Mechanical / Engineering experience and in depth knowledge
10. Both mechanically & electrically proficient
11. Excellent telephone manner with the ability to communicate effectively
12. High degree of attention to detail
13. Ability to work accurately under pressure and meet deadlines
14. Able to work both independently and as part of a team.
15. Self-motivating.
16. Proficient IT skills with good working knowledge of Microsoft Office / Windows
Desirable Knowledge / Experience
17. The ideal candidate will have a background in technical support, ideally in the engineering sector.
18. Compressor, Welding, Metal Cutting knowledge would be a huge advantage but not essential.
19. Customer Services experience is advantageous. This would include dealing directly with customers by phone or face to face.
