Job Description
We are offering a role in Cost Management Services to a major utilities client on their approximately £2 billion Capital Delivery Programme.
You will be involved in a wide range of exciting projects, varying in scale, budget, duration, and complexity. Projects can last from a month to several years, with budgets from thousands to tens of millions.

As a Cost Manager, you will establish friendly and professional relationships with clients, colleagues, and other stakeholders involved in delivery. Your responsibilities include accurate project cost monitoring, forecasting, and reporting to completion within budget, proactively managing cost variances and contract cash flow, and ensuring timely and correct application processes in accordance with contract conditions. You will collaborate with client and contractor teams to manage project deliverables, including program performance, cost control, value engineering, and risk management. Managing contract changes effectively, ensuring projects adhere to governance procedures, and adopting best practices to improve forecast accuracy and close out final accounts are also key aspects. Additionally, providing sound commercial support to all stakeholders is essential.
Qualifications
* Previous experience as a Cost Manager in infrastructure or property sectors.
* Experience deploying cost management systems on major programs.
* Good knowledge of the NEC3 contract form (Options A, C & E).
* Knowledge of risk management techniques.
* Technical understanding of construction methods and techniques.
* Ability to quickly learn new tasks and use initiative.
* Excellent organizational, collaboration, and influencing skills.
* Ability to multitask and meet deadlines in a high-volume environment.
* Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
* Strong written and verbal communication skills.
* People and management skills.
* Degree qualification in a relevant subject (or equivalent) preferred.
* Membership in a professional body (e.g., RICS) preferred or in progress.
