My client is a leading design for manufacture business, whose high-speed machinery can be found in facilities across the world. This role will focus on the effective programming of CNC Turning machines with Mazatrol controls, as well as setting and operating the machinery.
CNC Turner
Main Responsibilities
1. Complete all setups and efficiently run moderate to very complex parts on CNC machines following detailed setup instructions.
2. Consistently demonstrate the ability to meet critical engineering specifications as shown on engineering prints.
3. Interpret complex engineering drawings.
4. Identify process improvements and incorporate necessary changes.
5. Operate multiple machines when required.
6. Check components in process to ensure correctness.
7. Report any routing/guideline issues to the engineering department.
8. Communicate with management, staff, and machinists during shift changeover and for process requirements.
9. Alert management at the earliest if any problems arise.
10. Maintain ongoing department operations and carry out first-off inspections where required.
11. Follow all company processes and procedures.
12. Ensure the highest quality levels on parts produced.
13. Perform daily routine maintenance checks on machines (e.g., grease, oil, coolant, filters).
14. Operate machinery safely and efficiently, adhering to PPE and EHS requirements.
15. Mentor apprentices where applicable.
The Candidate
* Minimum of 5+ years experience programming, setting up, and operating CNC Mazak machines, machining various materials.
* Ability to read and understand machine programs.
* Strong communication skills and capable of working from verbal and written instructions with minimal supervision.
264 hours holiday per year (including bank holidays).
