We are seeking to recruit an Optometrist to support our busy and growing team of 16 orthoptists and 5 optometrists.
There are sessions available covering eye casualty, glaucoma, and core optometry. We are interested in hearing from optometrists keen to get involved in any of these services. The role is based at the Royal Berkshire Hospital, with potential sessions at other sites. We are also interested in optometrists who wish to support our growing research presence, in partnership with the University of Reading.
As an autonomous practitioner, the Advanced Optometrist will provide high-quality optometric care to patients and collaborate as part of the cross-site Optometry team. Responsibilities include delivering care in contact lens, paediatric, and refraction clinics, and potentially undertaking glaucoma, eye casualty, and medical retina/AMD sessions. You will also contribute to the development of the optometry and orthoptic services.
Minimum Requirements:
* BSc Optometry
* GOC registration
* Evidence of recent clinical practice
Desirable Criteria:
* Independent Prescriber
* Teaching Qualification
* Member of College of Optometrists
* Masters/Higher degree, Hospital Optometry Experience
You must hold appropriate UK professional registration.
