The Role:
As a Practice Educator, you will lead the planning, delivery, and evaluation of clinical training and professional development across the site’s multidisciplinary team. You will assess learning needs, support the induction of new staff, and ensure robust, person-centred training aligns with clinical priorities and national standards.
Your role will be key to delivering high-quality, safe care and to supporting the clinical workforce to continually develop and grow. You will:
* Develop and implement structured clinical education plans tailored to the needs of the workforce
* Lead competency-based training, clinical supervision, mentorship, and preceptorship programmes
* Deliver a mix of training formats including classroom sessions, virtual workshops, on-the-job teaching, and blended learning
* Maintain detailed records of learning outcomes and ensure compliance with internal and external education standards
* Lead clinical inductions, mandatory training programmes, and annual appraisals in collaboration with senior leaders
* Use quality improvement data and incident trends to tailor training responses and prevent recurrence
* Support research and evidence-based practice initiatives across the service
* Model clinical excellence and provide supernumerary support to staff at all levels
* Assist in the development of policies, guidelines, and best practice protocols
This is a key leadership role suited to someone with both a clinical background and a passion for adult education and professional growth.
About You:
To succeed in this role, you will need:
* Degree-level education (or working towards)
* A registered clinical qualification (e.g. NMC or HCPC registration)
* Completion of Practice Supervisor/Assessor training
* Demonstrable experience in a clinical healthcare role, ideally within neuro or specialist care
* Understanding of adult learning styles, competency-based training, and workforce development
* Proven experience in clinical teaching, mentoring, and coaching staff at all levels
* Strong working knowledge of evidence-based practice and clinical governance
* Confidence using quality improvement frameworks and delivering education that addresses identified risks
* A commitment to creating an inclusive, supportive, and continuously improving learning culture
