Job Title: Cover Supervisor – Secondary Schools Location: Liverpool and the Wirral Salary: £90 – £120 per day (depending on experience and assignment) Start Date: Immediate and ongoing About the Role: Are you confident managing a classroom and engaging with students? We are currently recruiting enthusiastic and reliable Cover Supervisors to work across a range of dynamic and inclusive secondary schools in Liverpool and the Wirral. As a Cover Supervisor, you will play a crucial role in maintaining continuity of education during teacher absences. This is an excellent opportunity for aspiring teachers, recent graduates, experienced support staff, or those with experience working with young people in other sectors (e.g., sports coaching, youth work, tutoring, etc.). Key Responsibilities: Supervise students in the absence of the regular classroom teacher, ensuring a safe and productive learning environment. Deliver pre-set work provided by teaching staff, ensuring students remain on task with their learning. Manage classroom behaviour in line with school policies. Support students with queries about the work set and encourage positive engagement. Report any incidents, issues or concerns to the relevant staff or safeguarding team. Adapt quickly to different school environments, year groups, and subjects. Ideal Candidate Will Have: Previous experience working with children or young people (essential). Strong classroom management skills and the ability to remain calm under pressure. Confidence to lead a class and encourage learning. A positive attitude, flexibility, and a proactive approach. A desire to work in education and support the progress of young people. A university degree or Level 3 qualification is desirable but not essential. Requirements: Enhanced DBS registered on the Update Service (or willing to apply for one). Right to work in the UK. Two professional references. Availability to travel to schools across Liverpool and/or the Wirral.
