About the Role
We are currently recruiting for two Mechanical Engineers to join a well‑established maintenance team supporting a healthcare contract across the Birmingham area. This is a hands‑on role where you will take a proactive approach to both planned and reactive maintenance. You will be responsible for diagnosing faults, carrying out repairs, and ensuring mechanical systems are operating safely and efficiently in line with current regulations and standards. The role may involve travel to other sites within the wider contract area, so flexibility is essential.
Key Responsibilities
* Respond promptly to reactive maintenance requests
* Diagnose faults and carry out repairs on complex mechanical systems
* Perform planned preventative maintenance (PPM) tasks
* Ensure all work complies with relevant legislation, standards, and operational procedures
* Maintain accurate records of work completed
* Support the wider engineering team when required
Systems You Will Work On
* Ventilation systems
* Pumps and compressors
* Boilers and heating systems
* Medical gas systems
* Domestic hot and cold water systems
About You
* Previous experience working within a maintenance environment
* Strong knowledge of complex mechanical systems
* A recognised apprenticeship in a xlqdzyr relevant engineering discipline (City & Guilds or equivalent)
* Post-apprenticeship experience in a similar role
* A proactive and problem‑solving approach
Desirable
* Experience within a healthcare or hospital maintenance environment
Additional Information
* This role will involve occasional travel to other sites within the contract
* Candidates should be comfortable working in a live healthcare environment
