Job Description:
This Technical Readiness Leader role has broad responsibilities in delivering the PHC innovation pipeline for Vitamins, Minerals, and Supplements. The PHC VMS business is a key growth driver for PHC and encompasses a diverse portfolio across multiple brands and product forms. A significant part of the business is managed via Contract Manufacturers, and this role will have key responsibilities for partnership with our CMS and for design and technical delivery with our CM partners.
You will act as an expert in all formulation and technology aspects across different forms (tablets, softgels, gummies, powders, liquids, etc.), ensuring technical rigor and compliance with internal and external EU and local regulations.
You will be part of a wider R&D innovation team and interact with colleagues from various R&D subject areas located across Europe.
Key responsibilities include:
* Define learning plans with CMs to address complex formulation and technology questions, including product/formula preparation (e.g., physical determinations, product performance, stability).
* Apply scientific methods to build, execute, and report on technical learning plans—defining problems, gathering data, forming hypotheses, testing hypotheses, and reporting findings.
* Proficient in formulation and specification tools and systems.
* Ensure technical product development readiness of projects supporting the Personal Health Care portfolio, aligned with business timelines.
* Provide technology and formulation advice within medicinal product development projects in Europe.
* Perform product feasibility assessments and technical activities from product development with CMs.
* Determine product development strategies, including due diligence, risk assessment, and IP strategy.
* Grow knowledge of relevant external supplier technology portfolios.
* Design and execute sound learning plans to evaluate technology introduction into products for breakthrough benefits or cost innovation.
Qualifications:
* Background in life sciences.
* Proven experience in technical readiness, ideally in regulated industries.
* Proficiency in technical systems with a strong quality mindset.
* Strong project management skills to ensure project readiness and adherence to timelines and standards.
* Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
* Collaborative approach, working with teams across functions within R&D and Marketing.
* Experience in manufacturing and packaging processes within regulated environments is required.
* Knowledge of tablet, soft and hard gel capsule, and oral liquid products is desirable but not essential.
