Education Content Manager Contract: Full time, permanent Salary and Locations available: Guildford, Milton Keynes, London: £37,000 - £41,600 Working pattern: Hybrid working, with around 2 days per week in the office You'll make a difference in this role by Supporting AQA's purpose to help students, teachers, and education providers succeed by shaping and delivering high-quality resources that are trusted in the classroom. You'll play a key role in how educational content is designed, developed and delivered, ensuring it is accessible, relevant and effective for a wide range of users. Your work will contribute to resources used at national scale, supporting thousands of teachers and hundreds of thousands of learners across your dedicated subjects and qualifications. You'll also contribute to how content evolves, supporting the move towards digital and more flexible approaches. What the role involves Across all six positions, you'll manage the development of educational content from early planning through to delivery, review, continuous improvement, and retirement. This role brings together education, publishing, and product. You'll work across teams and with external contributors to ensure resources meet user needs and align to AQA's wider strategy. You'll take a hands-on role in developing content, working with subject experts and contributors to create, refine and deliver resources rather than producing all content independently. You'll report into a Head of Product, with matrix management from a Subject Resource Manager to provide subject expertise and alignment across the wider portfolio. About these opportunities We are recruiting six Education Content Managers (internally known as Subject Resource Managers) to build a balanced team, combining subject expertise with the ability to lead content across multiple subjects. This includes: 1 x Maths specialist 1 x Science specialist 1 x English specialist 3 x Portfolio roles, working across a broad mix of subjects (approximately 35) All roles share a common purpose, but the focus varies slightly depending on your strengths. Specialist roles (Maths, Science, English) In these roles, you'll bring strong subject knowledge and use it to develop high-quality, relevant resources. You might come from teaching, subject leadership, or subject-specific publishing, and will be confident translating subject complexity into clear, accessible content. Portfolio roles (multi-subject) In these roles, you'll work across a large number of subjects, managing content at scale. You'll collaborate with contributors to deliver resources for different audiences, adapting content to suit different subjects, levels and needs. These roles suit candidates with strong commissioning, editorial or project management experience who are comfortable working across multiple areas at pace. And what's in it for you The chance to make a meaningful impact on education while growing your career Opportunities for growth and professional development Being part of AQA's inclusive and values-led culture A benefits package including up to 11.5 percent employer pension contribution, BUPA healthcare support, wellbeing programmes and volunteering opportunities 25 days annual leave plus bank holidays, increasing with service, along with discretionary Christmas closure days What you'll do Manage the full lifecycle of content from commissioning through to delivery and ongoing improvement Plan, commission and develop resources aligned to user needs and product priorities Write clear briefs and work with internal teams and external contributors Collaborate across product, web and marketing teams to deliver high-quality content Work with external authors, partners and subject associations Manage multiple projects, ensuring delivery to time and quality expectations Support development of content across formats, including PDFs and emerging digital approaches Use feedback and insight to improve content Contribute to the development and refinement of content templates and approaches Support delivery of content across subjects and audiences You'll thrive in this role if you have Experience creating, commissioning or managing content in education, publishing or a related environment Strong organisational and planning skills Experience working with a range of stakeholders, including external contributors Experience writing briefs or working with others to develop content A focus on clarity, usability and quality Experience with content or design tools (for example Canva or similar) The ability to balance ideas with delivery You may also bring Subject expertise in Maths, Science or English Experience working across multiple subjects or managing content at scale Experience commissioning or working with authors, freelancers or external partners What next? Final stage Successful candidates will be invited to a final interview in early July 2026, which will include: A pre-prepared content or resource task A structured face to face interview with a panel including a hiring manager and content and or subject specialists All candidates will be notified of outcomes at each stage.
