Job Role
The Langley Hotel is seeking a dedicated Grounds Assistant to work alongside our Gardener in maintaining the beautiful outdoor spaces that enhance our guests' experience. This is an excellent opportunity for someone who enjoys working outdoors and takes pride in creating well maintained, attractive grounds.
This is a part-time position (32hrs), working Monday to Sunday.
Key Responsibilities will include:
* Assist with general garden maintenance including weeding, pruning, and planting
* Support lawn care activities such as mowing, edging, and fertilizing
* Maintain flower beds, shrubs, and seasonal displays
* Assist with watering systems and irrigation maintenance
* Keep walkways, patios, and outdoor areas clean and debris free
* Help with seasonal tasks i.e. leaf removal
* Support setup and maintenance of outdoor event spaces
* Assist with tool maintenance and equipment care
* Perform other grounds related duties as assigned by the Gardener
The ideal candidate will have:
* Physical ability to perform outdoor manual labour in various weather conditions
* Willingness to learn and follow instructions from the head gardener
* Basic understanding of gardening principles preferred but not essential
* Reliable and punctual with a strong work ethic
* Ability to work independently and as part of a team
* Valid driver's license preferred for equipment operation
