A growing SME are looking to recruit for a Accounts Payable Clerk to join their friendly team.

We’re working with a growing business based in Hertford who are looking to bring an Accounts Payable Clerk into their finance team. This is a great opportunity for someone who enjoys a busy, collaborative environment, wants exposure beyond pure processing, and takes pride in getting the detail right.
The role You’ll play a key part in ensuring the smooth running of the purchase ledger, working closely with both finance and operational teams.
Key responsibilities include:
1. End-to-end processing of supplier invoices
2. Matching, batching and coding invoices
3. Managing supplier queries and maintaining strong relationships
4. Preparing and processing payment runs
5. Statement reconciliations
6. Supporting month-end AP close activities
7. Assisting with process improvements as the business continues to scale
About you
8. Proven experience in an Accounts Payable / Purchase Ledger role
9. Comfortable working in a fast-paced, hands-on environment
10. Strong attention to detail and good organisational skills
11. Confident communicating with suppliers and internal stakeholders
12. Good Excel skills and experience using finance systems
13. Positive, proactive attitude with a willingness to learn and get involved
14. The ideal candidate will be available to start on short notice
