This 6‑month General Paediatric locum post is available within the Specialist Children’s Health Service Unit to support service transformation. The successful post holder will work in Acute Paediatric services, managing the acute paediatric service and supporting families in their own environment while providing hospital‑level care. The role focuses on improving patient flow and patient journey, and on Hospital at Home (Paediatrics) across NHS Lanarkshire.
* Work Monday to Friday 9:00 – 17:00, and provide covering shifts on weekends (Saturday & Sunday 14:00 – 20:00).
* Manage Hospital at Home (Paediatrics) patients, including consultant review when required.
* Participate in Acute Paediatric service activities, including inpatient and triage ward work.
* Engage in service appraisal sessions (1 SPA) and allocate time for administrative and service development duties.
* Support and contribute to quality improvement, patient safety (including human factors training), medical education, research & development initiatives.
