Infrastructure Manager / London (Office Based 5 Days Per Week) / Immediate Start / Competitive Pay This role will provide on premise physical and logical Infrastructure Management to all areas of the firm including Operations and Support and will require hardware, software, and network activities to keep PCs, Servers, and Networks running smoothly. This role will also require understanding of AWS, GCP, Azure cloud-based environments as well as hybrid environments. You will be responsible for all infrastructure across the enterprise, reviewing IT architecture and infrastructure and identifying areas in need of upgrade and/or maintenance. This requires the ability to work in a busy and fast paced environment, and in a reactive business. With knowledge of different specialisms within IT and technical understanding of current security trends and solutions as well as planning, implementing, and monitoring changes in infrastructure configurations. You will manage a team responsible for the installation, configuration, and maintenance of software and hardware both on premise and in cloud - based environments – as well as remotely supporting our staff as needed and working with our sister entities globally as needed. It may, at times, require your team to engage in light manual work in moving hardware within the office and/or laying network cable. In addition, there will be various other hardware and network tasks that arise from time to time, given that as a small business there is an expectation that staff be willing to “help out” with things that are not part of the formal job description. The position will also implement and manage information security for use of cloud services as well as security configuration management which pertains to infrastructure activities. This individual will set direction for Infrastructure ensuring members of the team are all cross trained, making sure staff have clear areas of responsibility and lines of ownership and defining and meeting service levels. You will manage this team by holding regular 121s, setting annual objectives, encouraging collaboration, and supporting individuals to achieve their full potential. This position requires you to get hands-on, providing incident management, change management and/or problem solving to support the team. The ideal candidate for this position must possess certification in CISCO networks or equivalent, including network switches, routers, and firewalls. Experience with both Linux and Windows servers (both physical and virtual), Hypervisors (such as VMWare and Hyper-V), deployment tools, and management and monitoring tools is also required. Your key role will be to manage, maintain and upgrade on premise and cloud-based computers, servers, and network devices, keep up to date on new best practices and technical advances or techniques on a continuing basis. To ensure that staff under your supervision perform their duties in line with company policies and procedures. Duties & Responsibilities: Managing computers, servers, and networks. Performing system upgrades and maintenance. Any other tasks as may be reasonably required. Immediate start if possible 5 days in office, each week ( no remote working) Skills & Experience: A bachelor's degree in information management or computer science. 2-3 years of infrastructure leadership experience – managing multiple teams and/or locations Infrastructure efficiency Line management Process improvement, Windows Infrastructure, Linux Infrastructure, Cloud and Hybrid Environments, IT Services Management, Project implementation, Capacity planning Strong people management skills; proven success in recruiting, creating, and motivating a strong performing team Good communications skills, both written and verbal.
