Acquisitions Systems Ltd/Pharmagraph is looking for a Calibration Lab Supervisorto join our well-established and growing engineering company. The role is based in Finchampstead and reports to the Service Manager. The company's products are used in monitoring and control systems for pharmaceutical, NHS and life sciences customers, as well as for general engineering and military applications.

Roles & Responsibilities
The role includes, but is not limited to, the following activities relating to ASL/ Pharmagraph environmental monitoring systems:
Oversee the daily operations of the calibration laboratory, ensuring efficient turnaround and high technical standards.
Perform calibration of equipment including, but not limited to:
o Temperature (Platinum Resistance Thermometers and Thermocouples)
o Relative Humidity (RH)
o Differential Pressure
o Airborne Particle Counters
o Oxygen
o Carbon Dioxide
o Active Air Samplers
Develop, document, and maintain laboratory procedures to ensure compliance with ISO 17025.
Support the maintenance of Pharmagraph's ISO 17025 accreditation, ensuring that laboratory processes, records, and calibration activities meet accreditation requirements.
Prepare for and participate in ISO 17025 audits, working with the Service Manager and Quality team to provide evidence and implement corrective actions where required.
Contribute to risk assessments, uncertainty budgets, and management reviews to support the continuation of accreditation.
Act as deputy technical contact for ISO 17025, ensuring business continuity in the Service Manager's absence.
Lead the introduction of new calibration processes, enabling capability expansion and reducing reliance on external providers.
Contribute to the development of the laboratory team, with the potential to provide supervision and guidance to additional staff in the future.
Prepare and execute risk assessments and method statements to ensure a safe working environment.
Liaise with business support team to maintain Lab schedules, ensure timely equipment turnaround, and keep customers informed.
Maintain Lab efficiency, stock control, and maintenance of ancillary equipment (e.g., vacuum pumps, aerosol generators).
Ensure test equipment is calibrated, liaising with suppliers for timely servicing.
Maintain company test equipment and tools, ensuring they are well cared for and tested as required.
Review and ensure correctness of calibration certificates from suppliers, and escalate issues internally and with customers as necessary.
Attend relevant training courses.
Provide internal support and training to colleagues and customers, possibly requiring short periods away from home or working from a Regional Office.
Generate and complete calibration certificates and service reports, ensuring GMP compliance and timely submission to customers.
Act as an ambassador for the company in customer dealings.
Provide feedback on products for improvement or potential quality issues.
Ensure the purchase, use, and maintenance of Health and Safety equipment.
Complete and renew online Health and Safety training as required.
Accurately complete timesheets and expense forms.
Stay updated on relevant regulatory requirements, company procedures, and policies.
Perform any additional tasks as needed to meet business needs and contractual obligations.
Skills/Experience/Qualifications
Strong calibration knowledge and hands-on technical ability in an ISO 17025 environment.
Experience contributing to or maintaining ISO 17025 accreditation processes.
Ability to work autonomously and take ownership of laboratory operations, with the flexibility to assume supervisory responsibility if required in the future.
Proficient in Microsoft Office programs (Excel, Word, Outlook, Access).
Excellent organisational skills, with the ability to manage time and prioritise effectively.
Strong communication and teamwork skills, with the ability to work autonomously.
Problem-solving ability and attention to detail.
Initiative and flexibility to develop new processes and take on new tasks.
Professional manner when dealing with colleagues, customers, and suppliers.

Working arrangement
* Working hours flexible with core hours required, working week considered 37.5hrs Mon-Fri, excluding Bank Holidays.
