Job Description:
As part of a dedicated primary care mental health team, you will deliver high-volume, low-intensity interventions, including a range of CBT-based self-management techniques, for clients with mild to moderate anxiety and depression.
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
* Assessing and supporting people with mental health problems in self-management of their recovery.
* Undertaking person-centred interviews to identify areas for change or recovery and assessing risk to self and others.
* Providing assessment and low-intensity interventions.
* Implementing evidence-based interventions using a self-management model of mental health care.
* Attending multidisciplinary meetings regarding referrals or clients in treatment.
* Collaborating with team members to ensure appropriate step-up and step-down care.
* Partnering with other disciplines and maintaining links with statutory and non-statutory agencies for continuing care, especially in relation to release from prison.
* Ensuring accurate clinical data entry and maintaining high standards of record-keeping.
* Adhering to activity contracts to minimize waiting times and ensure accessible treatment.
Requirements:
* Experience working in a prison environment or with offenders.
* Accredited PWP, either BACP or BPS.
* Experience within a stepped care service with mental health recovery outcomes.
* Knowledge of assessment, screening, referral, record-keeping, and brief psychological interventions.
* Ability to develop therapeutic relationships respecting individual beliefs and cultures.
* Experience using clinical outcome measures.
* Knowledge of medication for anxiety, depression, and other mental health issues.
* Ability to prioritize workload and respond to challenges.
* Enhanced DBS within the last 12 months or willingness to obtain one.
