Overview
Location: Bristol. An exciting opportunity for an experienced Senior Quantity Surveyor to join the commercial team on a major rail infrastructure scheme that will deliver significant enhancements to the local network, including two new stations, extensive earthworks, structure renewals and replacements, and new permanent way along a previously disused line.
What You’ll Be Doing
* Acting as the commercial lead for a geographically focused team, providing expertise and guidance to support project delivery.
* Producing accurate and timely commercial reports, forecasts, and advice for the management team.
* Managing all commercial aspects of the contract, ensuring appropriate financial controls are in place and commercial targets are achieved.
* Supporting the bid team during pre-contract stages and throughout delivery.
* Preparing and pricing contracts, overseeing procurement, and ensuring best value solutions.
* Working closely with design and delivery teams to drive cost savings and efficiencies.
* Identifying and managing risks and opportunities in line with company and client processes.
What We’re Looking For
* Proven experience in rail or large-scale civil engineering projects.
* Strong knowledge of NEC contracts (Option C/E preferred).
* Track record of providing clear and accurate commercial reporting and advice.
* Ability to manage commercial teams and support project leadership effectively.
* Skilled in procurement, contract preparation, cost forecasting and reporting.
* Excellent stakeholder and client relationship skills, with confidence to challenge and influence.
