Job Description
Due to significant growth across our Transmission and Distribution business, United Infrastructure is seeking an established Quantity Surveyor to support our growing workload within the Commercial area of our business. This site‑based role is located in Perthshire, Scotland. The successful candidate will have experience in cost and change control, contract and subcontract administration, and project reporting, and will work on contracts with SSE. Responsibilities include post‑award contract administration, providing commercial and contract deliverables, implementing project plans, performing cost analysis and cash‑flow forecasts, developing subcontracting commercial strategy, contributing to internal project reviews, and managing performance within budgets.

Key Responsibilities
* Develop accurate cost estimates for projects based on specifications, drawings, and relevant information.
* Work closely with project managers and stakeholders to establish project budgets and ensure financial plan adherence.
* Manage project‑defined costs for all aspects of the project, including labour, materials, subcontractors, etc.
* Analyse and evaluate variations to the contract and provide recommendations for resolution.
* Administer contracts and ensure compliance with contractual terms and conditions.
* Review and assess contract documents, identifying potential risks and proposing mitigation strategies.
* Monitor and control project costs throughout the lifecycle; implement effective cost control measures and report on overruns or savings.
* Collaborate with cross‑functional teams to ensure seamless project delivery.
* Engage with project managers, clients, and subcontractors to address queries and resolve issues.
* Prepare and present regular reports on project costs, budget status, and financial forecasts.
* Provide insights and recommendations to senior management for decision‑making.
* Identify potential risks related to cost and contract management and develop risk mitigation strategies.
* Ensure compliance with relevant industry standards, regulations, and company policies, staying abreast of industry trends and best practices.
Qualifications
* Bachelor's degree in Quantity Surveying, Construction Management, or a related field.
* Proven experience as a Quantity Surveyor in project settings.
* Strong knowledge of quantity surveying principles, cost estimating, and contract administration.
* Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
* Analytical mindset with attention to detail.
* Ability to work effectively in a fast‑paced and dynamic environment.
