Geotechnical Engineer – Pick Everard
Overview
Join our Environmental discipline as a Geotechnical Engineer. This role offers exposure to a broad range of work with opportunities to develop technical expertise in geotechnical design within a supportive national team, with training and career development.
Responsibilities
* Independent production of quality desk studies, ground investigation reports and geotechnical design reports (to E.C.7 & CD622).
* Independent scoping and specification of ground investigation works (to ICE Specification for Ground Investigations 3rd Edition) and provide Investigation Supervisor role for ground investigations.
* Complete technically sound geotechnical designs in accordance with Eurocodes for a range of solutions and complexities.
Our ideal candidate should note that roles within our multidisciplinary team may involve collaboration across multiple sectors and projects.
Qualifications and Experience
* Relevant degree (BEng / MEng - Civil Engineering / Engineering Geology & Geotechnics / BSc - Geology with Masters in Geotechnics).
* Previous experience within geotechnical design, covering a range of solutions.
* Application of geotechnical implications of common UK geologies.
* Appreciation of construction phase inputs and buildability of geotechnical designs.
* Working knowledge of CDM 2015 from a Designer's point of view.
* Willingness to develop and progress toward Chartership with the ICE or the Geological Society of London.
* Good clarity and confidence in communication; writing, drawing, on screen and in person.
